A young woman of twenty-two (22), Aeris is a slender, petite woman at 5'4". She has bright sea green eyes, fair skin, and long, light brown hair that reaches down to her knees; it is braided, with two portions of her hair on each side styled like drills, and long bangs of various lengths that reach from her cheekbones to her jaw. She has four accessories on usually, one being a simple black,thin ribbon tied around her neck like a choker, then finished off with a ribbon. Speaking of ribbon, she wears a light pink ribbon — Zack bought it for her — around the base of her braid, and in the center is the well-kept White Materia from her mother.

Aeris wears a spaghetti strapped, long, pastel, cotton pink cotton dress, the straps and trimmings being a darker shade. She has a dark red denim jacket she wears over it, with silver bracers sewn at the end of the sleeves. She has dark brown boots, which are thick and reach up to her ankles. The buttons of the dress and jacket are all the same: small silver half-orbs.

A beacon of light in such a dark city, Aeris is a sweet girl who's full of life. She shows a beautiful smile to the world, to falling soldiers landing on her small patch of flowers because a surprise like that is different in her somewhat normal life.

When you first meet Aeris, she's that flower girl in pink on the sidewalk selling a basket of beautiful flowers -- a fresh, unusual sight in the urban jungles of Midgar. She looks to be the good girl next door... when she's really that mysterious woman who tends to the small garden in the abandoned church. Her persona shows with the flowers she takes care of: they grow with care, love, from someone who can truly connect with them. Aeris is a person that understands them, or tries to -- just as she does with Cloud when he first crash landed in the church. She's thoughtful that way, and does her best to work it.

A friendly soul, she's an outgoing woman — she's become one ever since she braved herself to sell her flowers in the upper plate of Midgar. She speaks to people, gets to know them, lets children tend to her garden while she's away, and even tries to help the sick man in the tunnel. She's even the one that initiates the date with Cloud.

She may be a friendly woman, but she's one that enjoys to have fun and poke a tease now and then, especially when she believes someone is in need of a cheering up, or the mood needs to be lightened. The way she explains why Cloud wanted the dress, how he's "always wanted to dress up as a girl" to gain his disguise, and the way she interacts with her friends in general. To an extend, that playful part of hers gives her charisma, being able to sell flowers from the range of one gil to five hundred, and even making Cloud laugh.

A determined girl, Aeris doesn't take no for an answer when she's set on a decision, especially if it's for the good of a friend, or the world. That's why she continued to travel with the party, why she went off alone to the Forbidden City without the rest of the party. Leave it to me, she told Cloud. It is also that act that shows her selflessness. She knew it would be difficult to get there without her bodyguard, that she would be alone again at one point, and that she may even die in the process -- but she did it anyway, knowing that her friends would oppose that she go alone in the world.

A girl keeps secrets, and she's no exception. For someone as outgoing and determined as she is, Aeris tends to keep stories of her life to herself. When Cloud asks about her first love, she tells him that he was someone she used to love -- and that is the biggest of understatements. It's true, but it's not the whole truth that she's willing to share. Aeris does lie when she needs to, however, like how she initially tells Cloud that she had no idea why the Turks were after her. Her little white lies keep people safe, she believes.

For an outgoing and friendly woman, her beautiful smile disappears now and then.

Before her trip to Cosmo Canyon, she never completely embraced her heritage -- that she is, indeed, a special human being, a Cetra. She's always tried to keep her life so simple, so normal -- but to be chased by Shinra from the day she was born, to hear voices of the dead is not normal at all. There's no one that can empathize with her with those special abilities, and that leads her to that loneliness she keeps quiet about.

She wouldn't admit it, not unless someone were very close to her ( or, at least, she believes to be close to ) but she can become quite lonely at times -- especially when she finally ceased to deny her true heritage as a "Cetra." That's why, when she was in a relationship with Zack, that loneliness just drifted away bit by bit because she has someone in her life.

... and then he never came back one day.

Even with that loneliness in her heart, however, she's been surviving a rough childhood until she found her way into the arms of Elmyra Gainsborough, she's been running from Shinra, and she's lived in the slums her whole life. She can fight as well. Not much, but it's enough to survive; she's an independent woman.

When she's very, very sad, she tends to keep herself quiet, and sometimes even isolate herself from the rest of the group, like when she hushes herself after telling Cloud how she feels about being the last Cetra alive. As much as Cloud would want to talk to her, with the player prompting to speak to Aeris, all she has to give him is complete silence. That's also because she's thoughtful again, thinking about her past and how it all adds up to the present.

In the end, Aeris is just that flower girl you see in the streets; the blossoming flower within the weeds.
